Task

To make the onboarding process for first-time users as intuitive as possible, reducing the drop-out rate and the need for interaction with a live customer.

The software would be used by restaurant owners and managers from across the UK as part of their onboarding.The focus was on enhancing clarity, with the aim being to alleviate the burden of daily restaurant operations.

Process

Messaging. Restaurant owners who would use this onboarding often come from various backgrounds and are not native English speakers. Consequently, the text needed to be clear, concise, and make the user feel empowered.

Research. In my research, I spent hours watching onboarding videos with restaurant partners. This helped me identify the main pain points and gauge the length of the setup process. As the content is mainly for the UK market, it uses localized British English.

Tools. I worked with rytr.me, Grammarly and Figma.
