It has been said that a picture is worth 1000 words (in the world of UX, there is a slight variation of this proverb that goes '...and a prototype is worth 1000 meetings", but that's another topic.) With a few words**,** let me tell you a lot about my life.

Hi, I'm Boris.

In less than 5 minutes, you will get a well-rounded idea of who I am and, ultimately, whether you want to work with me.

πŸŒ… Dawn

I was born in April 1997 in Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia. (Note, please, that Slovakia is different from Slovenia, Serbia, Czechoslovakia, or Siberia. More on that here.) This picturesque country in the heart of Central Europe.

The very centre of Bratislava β€” the city where I was born. In the picture you can see the castle and the Danube river.

I've been an ardent reader ever since I can remember. This I owe to my mother, who read Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace twice while she was pregnant with me. My love of writing started even before I started.

I grew up in a family that deeply appreciated education and especially the written word.

Reading my favourite F. R. de Chateaubriand in my favourite restaurant in Vienna, Austria.

Wanting to learn through reading has helped me develop several qualities that are ****essential for any writer. You cannot read, understand and write about literary masterpieces unless you can focus, see the work in the context and persevere in reading even when it's backbreakingly difficult. A professional reader does not read for mere pleasure or only to advance their knowledge. He does so to connect the new information with what he already knows and put the newly acquired knowledge into practice for the benefit of others. ****

The more he knows, the more he is able to help others.

All of these qualities β€” focus, determination, seeing the bigger picture β€” are precious tools in every writer's toolbox.
